Software Developer in Test

Our client, an Irish software start up that is growing rapidly, is currently looking to hire a Software Developer in Test to join their expanding team. An exciting role working on a fascinating new product with a great agile team around you. They are building a best of breed, modular, flexible booking engine for the car-sharing industry as well leading the way in ride-sharing software for autonomous vehicles and are putting together a strong team to help them realise this.  Reporting to the CTO, this is an exciting opportunity to join their team to deliver quality software building and influencing their Testing Process and software delivery.

This is an exciting new role based in Dublin as a hands-on Software Developer in Test  (SDET) to deliver and influence their Test Process, test planning and design, execution and reporting. You will develop your skills in Web and Mobile Application Cloud platforms and you will be an important part of their growing team.

The Job

Shape and implement their Test Strategy and process in line with Agile methodology.  Test execution and test evidence capturing Working within a Scrum team to review requirements and devise test cases and User Story Acceptance. Skilled Defect authoring and proactive follow up of issues.  Defining the appropriate tests required and any associated Test Data. Defining NFT for a complex system. Providing reporting metrics and testing status updates. Advise the wider team of test delivery improvement initiatives.

Experience/Knowledge

3 years+ software testing experience on IT projects in Agile teams.  IT Degree or related qualification. Good experience working as a SDET in Cloud Software solutions with influence in Mobile Apps. Good awareness of Test Processes, can help shape future testing direction while working hands on Testing.  Test Management tools e.g. JIRA, Confluence, TestRail. Knowledge of API Testing techniques.

Exposure to Test Automation Frameworks for Mobile Apps advantageous. ISTQB/ISEB Certification in Software Testing an advantage. Proven ability to tackle complex problems and find creative solutions. Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and good documentation skills.

Ability to communicate within the teams. Ability to respond well to change and maintain flexibility while keeping focus on objectives. Good document writing skills. Clear thinking with a can-do attitude and good team player. Good communicator in delivery and agile stand-up Scrum meetings

Technical / Professional Expertise

Proven experience in Test delivery driving Test Process and influencing Test approach for the organization. Proven experience in Test delivery driving Test Process and influencing Test approach for the organization. Worked previously in Mobile App Testing both manual and some Automation. Technically aware in Cloud, Web, Mob, Database, API services and testing of these Desired. Automation skills in one or more coding languages, tools and frameworks and is comfortable to discuss these in detail at interview. Examples AWS, Jenkins, cucumber, git, JMeter, Appium, Robot Framework.

Able to deliver high quality work product under deadlines. Good leadership and business acumen/perspective.  Open and transparent communicating style. Builds value-adding relationships. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (including executive team) and articulate issues in a simple manner
