Our client, a World leader in their filed, Electronic Components, currently required an experienced Project Leader with strong electronics and Project Management experience

 

The Job - Summary of Function:

· Develop strong relationships with  key customers. Ensure that the company is focused on meeting these customers' needs & be the customer advocate.
· Develop close co-operation with the design groups either locally or remotely and co-ordinate collaborative development activity.
· Meet Program business goals in terms of the 4 key company objectives - Quality, Delivery, Service and Cost.
· Programme lead of new product development, product introduction and support.
· Integrate activities across multiple functions to ensure seamless delivery of new programmes.
The activities managed by the Programme leader include:
· Production preparation including close co-ordination of all activities relating to product introduction procurement of materials and production resources either internally based or as necessary to full-fill offset product requirements.
· Product introduction plans and any appropriate phase in / phase out plans with other related products.
· Sales and order demand input planning in relation to Program lead portfolio.
· Consideration and compliance with product licensing regulations.
· Each program covers the life of the program, which includes obsolescence planning and after-market support.
· Monitoring program, product cost and schedule for New Product Introduction programmes. Communicate significant changes in program status. Monitoring progress and initiating corrective action as required ensuring the plan is achieved.
· Informing all parties, both within Ireland and the wider community, about program status and relevant issues.
· Contribute to Programme Management within the company through active participation in group meetings and co-operation with the other teams.


The Ideal Candidate - Qualifications & Experience Criteria

1) University Degree or higher in Engineering or other related discipline or 15+ years of electronics and Project Management experience.
2) Additional courses in business, general management, project management or leadership skills would be an advantage.

Specific experience in the following areas would be a significant advantage:
1) Program leadership of geographically spread, multi-disciplinary teams.
2) Production process within an electronics facility.
3) Product development cycle for electronic products.

Personal characteristics
It is envisaged that this individual will have: good leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (both written and oral). The individual must be
self-motivated, be able to prioritise and possess a systematic approach to problem solving. The role requires travel to Europe, Asia and the US.
